In 2007, I decided that I no longer wanted to work in an office and get the train to London every day. Making a decision like that was the easy part, the hard part was what did I want to do to make a living instead?

I decided to invest the time and money in a cookery course. I attended the 3 month residential Ballymaloe Cookery School in Cork, Ireland where I studied under Darina and Rachel Allen. Here I developed a deep and rich understanding of food and how it is produced.

This is vital, as good quality cooking requires you to be able to recognise the best ingredients and how to make the most of them. From the shop perspective, it enables me to recognise good produce when I see it, gives me a good idea of what to stock and a knowledge base where I can discuss recipes, ideas and food with customers, assisting them with whatever they are trying to achieve.

We have a good selection of handmade food available to take away from the chiller or the freezer as ready meals, all prepared by me on the premises. We also have a daily selection of cakes, sweet treats, bread, soups and salads, depending on the season.

Why go to a restaurant when I can come and cook for you in your own home? You choose the menu and we go from there. Without the need for a babysitter or expensive wine you can have a special celebration without breaking the bank. If you are lacking in confidence, let me assist you. Bring in your empty dishes and I'll fill them with your choice of food. My lips are sealed, so it's up to you whether you spill the beans!
